3rds @ Ace's Ardingly!

Black Adders take 3rd place in Div 3!

On the 11th and 12th May, the team travelled all the way down to the South East to compete at the Waggies and Ace's hosted Inside Out tournament at Ardingly (South of England) Showground. A great weekend was had by all and it was so lovely to get to see our friends that race outdoors, that we hadn't seen in a while.

The teams had a fruitful weekend of racing - Black Adders Go Forth were looking tight in the buildup to the weekend, but last minute work commitments unfortunately kept a full compliment of dogs from going which meant the team ended up having to go NFC. This didn't stop the remaining dogs and handlers giving their all though and the mighty (and usually somewhat temperamental) Star managed to take nearly an entire second off her PB, slashing it down to 5.99!!

Black Adders had another cracking day of racing, taking their seedtime down to 18.11 on the way to taking 3rd in division 3. With Buddy back in the mix and Cai and Maddie settling in to their new - swapped - positions, we'll hopefully see some continued improvement as the season progresses.

And for the first time this year, we had an intermediates team competing. We were really pleased with how Zeus, Kadi, Xavier and Brac were looking, the pups getting their first experience of a competition ring, and the older two dogs getting in some great practice with props - and the team came away with 3rd in the Inters division as well!

Outside of the racing, there was still plenty more going on to enjoy. Having completed his novice judges logbook at Newark, Ali finally got to experience judging from the middle as he undertook his first Provisional Judging assignment - and managed to survive without making any major mistakes! In their absence, Kate and Meg gained their Intermediate award for 1000 points - Congratulations to them!!! We got our first glimpse of the Automatic Pass Evaluation System (A.P.E.S.) in action (it's very cool), the team came 5th in the fantastically enjoyable quiz organised for Saturday evening, and finally the team kids were being as cute as ever, with Reuben and Mia snapped enjoying each others company! Here's looking forward to more awesome weekends in the near future!
